CASE DESCRIPTION:

Dr. Nik successfully managed a challenging case of bone ridge augmentation complications. Eight weeks after surgery for vertical and horizontal augmentation of the posterior mandible, Dr. Nik carefully exposed a D-PTFE non-resorbable membrane. Upon removal, the graft was found to be immature but intact and stable.

Dr. Nik gently performed curettage and irrigation of the graft, applying doxycycline putty locally to minimise infection risks. To protect the graft and promote optimal healing, a native collagen membrane was placed over the graft, and the flap was meticulously re-adapted and sutured to achieve primary closure.

Seven months later, after uneventful healing, Dr. Nik assessed the site, revealing significant bone gain and sufficient bone width to successfully place 2 Conelog Progressive Implants.
