CASE DESCRIPTION:

The patient presented with a compromised lower dentition, requiring the extraction of the remaining teeth due to their poor prognosis. This clinical scenario called for a carefully planned, comprehensive approach to restore both function and long-term stability. By prioritizing precision and patient outcomes, Dr. Nik was able to convert a challenging case into a predictable and successful treatment journey.

Utilising advanced surgical protocols, Dr. Nik skillfully performed immediate implant placement, inserting four Conelog Progressive dental implants from BioHorizons at the time of extraction. This approach helped preserve bone architecture, reduce overall treatment time, and provide a solid foundation for future prosthetic rehabilitation.

Recognising the presence of a thin buccal plate—often a limiting factor in achieving optimal implant stability and aesthetics—Dr. Nik meticulously carried out guided bone augmentation. A carefully prepared blend of allograft and autogenous bone was used to enhance the deficient areas, promoting both volume and biological integration. To protect and stabilise the graft, a collagen membrane was precisely positioned and secured using periosteal sutures, ensuring optimal healing conditions and predictable regenerative outcomes.

After a healing period of ten weeks, Dr. Nik proceeded with the restorative phase by placing locator attachments and designing a Locator overdenture. The definitive prosthesis was custom-fabricated by Gosia Ciepiela, a certified dental technician, ensuring a precise fit, functional excellence, and natural aesthetics tailored to the patient’s needs.
